Part of the Cosmic Machinery found in Fullerton, California USA March 5th at 3:23 PM Wednesday.
I spent that afternoon at the park wandering amongst the tall trees in the quite still of Spring only birds chirping here and there some bees buzzing in and about the daffodils were in full bloom and the sun was raining yellow happiness over the green plants while ducks made love near the waters edge of a deep cool dark pond. I was leaving tranquillity with the rush of nature still filling my head as I walked towards my truck I noticed something half buried in the decomposed granite I had been walking on. At first I thought it must be a bright green bottle cap but there was something different about it some pattern that looked unfamiliar to me molded into the top that caught my eye so I bent over and digging my finger tips in to the crumbling dry decomposed granite soil of the parking lot I retrieved this object with numbers running around the outside. I held it in my hand looking closely through the dirt that enveloped the object I flicked some away with my thumb peering at the pattern of raised dots and the black numbers around the perimeter and in that very moment the rush in my head stopped silence was restored then distorted in a way I can't explain only to tell you that clarity never seemed more brilliant. A man seated in a parked BMW automobile its paint faded gray black from age and a clouded windshield from neglect. He was speaking in German about drugs and payment. Suddenly the Fire House opened its big metal doors and the sirens sang out with massive red Fire Trucks spilling out into the street. Standing on my left a young man and a woman with tears in their eyes hugged and kissed each other as though it was the last time they would see each other ever again. Then burdened with the weight of their internal conflict they turned and parted walking with labored steps on their separate paths. Somewhere far off in the distance a baby cried. I looked down at this bright green wheel that I held in my hand and knew then with the absolute certainty forged of unquestionable evidence that this small piece had been missing all along that I had some how found a part of the Cosmic Machinery of life and reactivated it by accident. An accident that may have been good or evil this I do not know only that everything in the world changed that day.
