Art Here Now
by Susan Shaw & Chloe Leach, USA

exhibit Nr.393

Description: Art Process Box: Resurfaced and painted Plastic, Plastic Figure, Paper, Pencils, Found Metal, Miniature Metal Structure

Comments/Origin: This artwork was created by Susan Shaw and her 12-year-old daughter, Chloe Leach. The work grew out of a discussion about how Susan considers "Art" to be the process of actual work and the discovery that emerges. What most people think of as "Art" is only the by-product or left-overs of that act. "Art Here Now" grew out of the concept and a discussion about portable process. The contents can be arranged in the landscape, enhanced or documented by drawing, and returned to their container for future "Art". Since its origin is American, it had to be both attractive and market-oriented, thus the resurfaced container.
