Eggwreck
by Yves Maraux, France
exhibit Nr.776
Description: BLACKBIRD's crushed egg on rusted metal (cut and framed).
Comments/Origin: Spring came as I completed reading Le Livre des Rois, chap. 17, crows bringing food to Elie before he go[es] to Sarepta window; mornings after [that] I was hearing crows all around the roof when I saw a big slice of cake in the yardcorner. Weeks after [that] I discovered an egg [in the] same place where a black bird used to scrape the moss. I decided to hatch the egg ... daytime in my pocket. But alas! as I was removing a plank, I feel something hot and sticky beneath my trouser pocket. 'Oh no, my God! Not at your age!' But it was the broken egg. What a mess, that's my wrecked artwork.
