Paper Knots
by Debora Colotti, USA
exhibit Nr.722
Description: Three long & thin strips of paper with colour ink on one side (then...)
Bent into simple knots.
Comments/Origin: Is the desire to find, sort, and redo some odd scrap of something into something new what defines the artist from the other humans on this planet? I think my not-wealthy ancestors did this too, but theirs was out of necessity, not desire. I desire to keep them from the trash; I choose to twist them; I choose to put them in an envelope and send them to a safe place; I choose to call them art.
Desire + choosing = ART.
